Why keep documents ready
Registration is done at the Sub-Registrar office or through a doorstep visit, and missing paperwork is the most common reason for delays. Keep the following ready before your appointment.
Documents from the owner (licensor)
- Aadhaar card and PAN card
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Proof of ownership of the property, such as an electricity bill, property tax receipt or society share certificate
- Society NOC, where applicable
Documents from the tenant (licensee)
- Aadhaar card and PAN card
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Current address proof
Witnesses
Two witnesses are needed along with their identity proof and photographs. Both the owner and the tenant also need to complete biometric verification at the time of registration.
